Plagued by interference in its design by the manufactured food industry, it encourages people to eat too much refined cereals and drink too much milk. It doesn’t come down hard enough on junk food, particularly the ‘garbohydrates’ – the foods that fatten you upo; the foods containing combinations of fat, flour, sugar and potato.
Unlike the Diet Pyramid, the Hourglass Diet is focused on getting you to eat from the top of the Hourglass where vegetables and fruit, together with meat, fish and chicken are located. If you’re a vegetarian you’ll be able to make do without the meat, fish and chicken.
